I am so super excited. A few weeks ago, before VTA, I was stressing about finding an audition song, my our costume designer (she also teaches English, but she went to Shenadoah Conservatory, and knows theatre) basically forced me to belt outright. I've never had anyone tell me I could belt, that it was ok, that I was able to. And I sound really good!! I recorded A Change in Me (I'm considering it for Wizard of Oz auditions. It needs some work (breath control for the higher notes) but I really am capable of belting, and it feels so amazing!

I GOT INTO SCHOOL!!!!!!!!! I just got a phone call...my 1st choice college just accepted me!!!!!! Yes, yes, YES! Christopher Newport University, here I come.

Hi, all, we're back from competition. So...we didn't place. We missed by DECIMAL POINTS. Ick. We did recieve honorable mention, though, so we're 5th in the state.
The way this thing is jugded, there are 2 rooms, theatre a and b. There're 2 shows going on at any given time. The best show from theatres a and b on Fri, and the best from Sat, go to finals, so there are 4 finalists. We were SO close!
For not winning, though, we won 22 awards. We took every place in mask making, my friend won set design (for these, you had to read a script, and make a set design/mask based on the play). We also got On the Spot (you have some props, a theme, and 24 hours to write/perform a skit. You get grouped w/ about 5 people from other schools) My friend and I were in the group that got 1st!
We also got awards for creative vision and costumes.
CheRae and Katie (who were Rosencrantz and Guildenstern), and Kenny (Hamlet) got to be part of the All-Star cast (12 boys and 12 girls who were exemplary actors get this)
Then came Best Actress. They choose 4 girls, one from each room, each day. This means you are one of the BEST in VA. Guys...I won. :O!!!



And, better still! Seniors has college auditions, and I was stoked bc the people from Christopher Newport were there (I'm waiting for them to find my transcripts in their pile of mail and give me an admissions decision, I should get it very soon). I sang Home (from Beauty and the Beast), and did a monologue from The Sound of Music. I was scared to death right before, like, sobbing. I went in and kicked ass. When I went downstairs at 5 to wait for the callback list to be put up, the CNU guy sees me, and comes up to me. He REMEMBERED MY NAME. :O:O I got a callback before the list went up!!! When the list DID go up, I was 1st on the CNU list, and there were only 18 on his list. I got 4 other callbacks, but they only wanted to sell their school to me. The CNU guy actually remembered me, and critiqued my work, and I gave him my resume, and he's supposed to send my info on some of the scholoarships CNU offers to theatre majors.
We have today off bc of some teacher thing, so I can catch up on all my school stuff I missed. I'm missing again on Friday, because we're going to see Romeo and Juliet. :)

Hi! I'm really excited, because we leave for theare competition in Redton today (That's why I haven't been around; between rehearsals for that and senior year and AP and college stuff...) Wish us luck!

Wow, so, guys, I think we can all agree that I suck as a friend right now? I'm sorry, school's back and I've been doing an awful lot, what with rehearsal and film club and creative writing club and AP classes. I sumbitted my college application tonight! I want to go to Christopher Newport University.I'm pretty nervous/excited.
So I'm so sorry for not commenting for the past...month. I haven't been getting home til late from rehearsal, plus homework. It'll probably be like this for a while, but I promise I'm reading all of your enrties I possibly can. Love you! :)

I feel kinda sick. I was watching some 9/11 videos, like the crash into the towers, and the collapse, and the phone call from the 105th floor, when Kevin (oh, geez, I forget his last name...) dies after the tower collapses from under him. I was 9 when it happened, and I really don't remember much, except that my dad was supposed to go to the Pentagon later that day for a meeting. I listened to the phone call twice, and was watching some of the jumpers, with a morbid sort of fascination, I'd been thinking of that all day, so I went on youtube when I got home from school...I cried so hard. I never really got it, it never felt realy. It was like a book, and this honestly was the first time I actually got that these were real people who died, real innoccent people, who's lives were destroyed.
In other, nicer news, I've been listening to fairy tales in French, and I'm getting about 1/2 of it, it's kind of fun.

Ok, yes. I am an only child. I am spoiled. But this pisses me the fuck off. My parents force me to clear the table and rinse off the dishes and put them in the dishwasher and shit. They try to fucking make me do this their way. HER way. She has all these stupid fucking shit that has to be a certain neurotic way. If ashe fucking wants it done a certain way, she should do it her fucking self. Don't tell me to do something your way. If you're going to force me to do something stupid, I'll do it MY fucking way.

I gots new shoes!!!! The Dillard's at our mall is going to close, and they've had stuff on sale all summer, and I counldn't find these in my size, and I was really upset...guess what was on the shelf in size 8 today? YAY!

Ok, for the life of me, I cannot get pics to come up, so I have to do them this way.

My family and I went over to Belah's house last night for her mom's 40th bday party, and since it was all adults, Bekah, Anthony, Megan, and I left and took a walk. We wound up going down to my street and met up w/ Belah and Anthony's boyfriends. We were gone a while, and it started to rain, so we went to Bekah's bf's house to steal umbrellas, and we started to wlk home to Belah's and got SOAKED, cause I gave my umbrella to Megan cause she and Anthony were sharing, and Belah and Rob were getting wet anyway...and my paretns drive up, and I got yelled at for leaving the party, because I did't actually tell them, Bekah told her parents....so it ws a fiasco. But I had a lot of fun
Also...my schedule got all screwed up. Badly. Pluys my French teacher left thew school;. I bought Harry Potter in French. I spoke to French people in French @ DIsney. I got Disney maps in French....and she's not gonna be there to tell! Urgh! So I can't take AP Bio, either, because it conflicts with somthing else, so my schedule is

5. AP US/VA Gov (w/ the teacher I wenated. I threw a fit cause he wasn't on my schedule and I already did all his summer homework!)
7. (which I have every day) Oceanography (which sucks. I wanted bio, which was 2 periods, but this is better than the freshman science. I have to have another science to graduate, because the school didbn't except my Physical Science credit from freshman year at my old school, because here in VA, people take that in 8th grade. Screw SPS!

4. French 3 (/4, cause there are only 2 students. I tested out of French 3, but they wouldn
t let me skip, and maybe now they will, so I can get the extra .5 fr my GPA since French4 is an Honors course.)

So my senior year is not what I want...but there's still VTA, and I'm uber-excited to start working on Rosencrantz and Guildenstern.

We're home!!!! We decided to go all the way, because when it started to get dark we were aboiut 2 hours from home and there was no point in sitting in a hotel. So we got in at about 10, and I'm still tired and everything. Long post to come.

I haven't updated in forever, sorry, guys! I've been busy with babysitting and summer homework (yeah. you read that correctly. Summer homework. Yuck. I hate Suffolk...). Also, we're going to go on vacation in 3 days. My mom and I are driving down to Fl, going to Disney, seeing my ghrandparents and my aunt (the one who got married recently).
Uh, news....my cousin got engaged. I don't really know this cousin, and her family and my other aunt's family were really rude to us recently...they had told us they weren't going to the Jersey boardwalk this summer, and they did, and we're pretty sure it was a snub. Don't invite the Bible-thumping Christian Curriers, God forbid (lol.)
